Be the change you want to see in the world –
Mahatma Ghandi

At Artful Change, we believe that art – and artists – can change the world. And now, there’s a lot about the world that needs the change that art can bring. That’s why we provide the social action network that brings artists and environmental groups together: Artful Change.

How does it work?
  • Artists join Artful Change to promote their work and their favorite environmental causes – it’s free!
  • Art lovers join Artful Change to find artists and environmental causes to support – for free!
  • Artists organize concerts, art shows and more that support and promote their favorite causes
  • Art lovers attend great concerts, art shows and readings – and save the earth at the same time!

Artful Change shows you how you can become involved on a local, national or even global level. We’ll provide updates on environmental issues, access to information about environmental groups, and all the information you need to plan your own fundraising event.

Use artfulchange.org not only as a resource for information, but as a way of meeting others and making connections. Post your photos and videos, start an event, or just meet others who want to make the change you want to see in the world.

Artful Change: Do something you love on behalf of something that needs your love.

Founding Director, Jay Trainer
Jay Trainer
Founding Director

A singer and songwriter with a deep respect for life and the planet we live on, Jay Trainer created Artful Change to bring two of his passions together.

As the Founding Director for Artful Change, Jay sets the mission and vision of the organization, raises funds, and coordinates events. He works diligently to find non-profit sponsors whose work Artful Change can support. In addition, he is responsible for the design and upkeep of the artfulchange.org site.

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Jay found his home – spiritually and musically - in San Francisco. Growing up immersed in the blues, soul and classic rock of the late 60’s and 70’s, he’s translated that into a musical style all his own.

In addition to shows across the Bay Area, including many Artful Change events, Jay’s thick, prolific guitar riffs and stark lyricism can be heard on his new album, Of the Sun.
